Pause for Week of September 15 and UPDATE on September 23.

Listen below to find out why. Hint: It involves a very tall mountain.

UPDATE: We did it! We backpacked the 70-mile High Sierra Trail from Sequoia National Park to over 13,000 feet Mt. Whitney. We did not get to summit to the top of Whitney at 14,500 feet due to weather, but we were all very proud of our accomplishment. It was so challenging, but the views were glorious, and everyone was encouraging of each other.

A big God story - Steve fell and hit his noggin on a rock and had a 2-inch open wound. He is a no-nonsense guy, put his handkerchief over it and his hat to keep pressure on it. He didn’t have any signs of a concussion, so we hiked about 8 more miles to our campsite. There!!! EMT Nora happened to be camping, and she was able to patch him up. We still had to hike out of the wilderness, so we finally went to Urgent Care on Tuesday. The PA said that the wound looked great and is healing up nicely. Steve wear his scar proudly, and be forever grateful for God’s care and Nora’s expert abilities.
